About Registration:
(1) Individuals with the following conditions are not eligible to register: infectious diseases, cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases, respiratory conditions, mental illnesses, severe anemia, those recovering from major or moderate surgeries, individuals with mobility impairments, pregnant women, or anyone otherwise unfit for travel. If you are registering on behalf of someone else, please ensure that the person being registered is in suitable physical condition for the trip.
(2) Those with poor physical fitness, limited mobility, high blood pressure, heart conditions, diabetes, asthma, or similar chronic illnesses should carefully assess their own situation before deciding to participate.
(3) To register, please provide your full name, gender, ID number (for travel insurance purposes), mobile phone number, and the name and contact number of an emergency contact person, and pay the required deposit. Registration is considered successful only after the deposit has been paid. After payment, please notify our customer service team to verify and confirm your registration. Registration is only valid after confirmation by our staff; otherwise, it will be deemed incomplete. Foreign travelers must provide valid identification documents as required by the sales representative.
(Before signing up for a tour organized by our agency, please ensure that your physical condition is suitable for travel to high-altitude regions. Due to the unique environmental conditions of such areas, travel is not recommended for individuals with serious or chronic illnesses. If possible, we suggest providing a recent medical examination report. If a traveler knowingly conceals health risks and insists on participating, our agency shall not be held liable for any health-related incidents or emergencies that occur during the trip. Thank you for your understanding.)
Altitude Sickness:
The likelihood of altitude sickness is related to factors such as the rate of ascent, altitude reached, duration of stay, and individual physical condition. Generally, individuals who live at low altitudes and rapidly ascend to altitudes above 3,000 meters may experience varying degrees of altitude sickness. The best way to cope is to stay relaxed—in most cases, symptoms will subside within a few days as the body gradually acclimates. Individuals with hypertension, heart disease, blood disorders, vascular conditions, asthma, or other medical conditions that are incompatible with high altitudes should avoid traveling to such areas. Even those in good health should ensure they are not suffering from colds, inflammation, or fatigue before entering high-altitude regions, as these may exacerbate symptoms.
(1) Symptoms: (If one or more of the following symptoms occur, altitude sickness should be considered.)Headache, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, palpitations, shortness of breath, chest tightness or pain, insomnia, drowsiness, loss of appetite, abdominal bloating, numbness in hands and feet, bluish lips or fingertips, puffiness around the eyes or swelling of the face.
(2) Prevention:If this is your first time at high altitude, or you have not been to such elevations in the past two years, it is strongly recommended to start taking preventive medications—such as Rhodiola (Hong Jing Tian) or Gaoyuan’an—at least 15 days prior to entering high-altitude areas, and to continue under medical guidance until fully acclimated.
(3) Treatment:Mild symptoms: most people will adapt within approximately 3 days.
Moderate symptoms: may require 5–7 days to acclimate.
Severe symptoms: seek immediate medical attention and descend to a lower altitude without delay.
Commonly used medications to alleviate altitude sickness include pain relievers (such as Sanlietong or headache powder), oxygen tablets, American ginseng, and portable oxygen (bagged or bottled). Always follow your doctor’s instructions when using any medication—self-medication is not advised.
(4) Xingyu Tibet Travel Agency will provide travelers with essential supplies for high-altitude travel, including oxygen and commonly used medications for altitude sickness (such as Rhodiola), to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.
Group Tour Size:
Our tour packages vary in price depending on the travel season and the number of participants in the group. For specific information, please feel free to contact us via email.
Driver + Tour Guide:
(1) The tour guide is not responsible for promoting shopping or optional paid activities. Their duties include arranging accommodations, coordinating meals, guiding the route, managing the time spent at attractions, and assisting in emergencies by contacting relevant services and handling unexpected situations.
(2) The tour guide is not a medical professional and does not have any medical qualifications. If a traveler feels unwell, it is strongly advised to seek nearby medical attention. The guide should not be relied upon for treatment, and any consequences resulting from improper handling are the traveler’s own responsibility.
Accommodation Conditions:
In densely populated central areas such as Lhasa, Shigatse, and Gyantse, you will stay in comfortable boutique hotels or highly rated Tibetan-style star hotels. In the western and central regions of Tibet, accommodation options are more limited. Compared to major tourist hubs, facilities may be more basic, but local guesthouses offer a more authentic and immersive experience of local life.
Meal Arrangements:
All daily meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during the group tour are included in the total tour cost. Travelers do not need to pay any additional meal fees. If you have special dietary requirements, please inform us in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements.
Room Sharing Policy:
Our hotel pricing is based on double occupancy (i.e., two people sharing one room). We will make every effort to pair you with a roommate of the same gender. Single occupancy or extra bed arrangements are available upon request for an additional fee. However, in remote areas such as Everest Base Camp or the Mount Kailash trek, due to local limitations, single rooms may not always be available. Thank you for your understanding.
Travel Insurance:
All products on the website include the following default travel insurance coverage: Travel Agency Liability Insurance, Vehicle Seat Insurance, and Tourist Accident Insurance.
Regarding Transportation:
(1) Breakdown: This itinerary involves long-distance driving through high-altitude regions with complex road conditions. Vehicle breakdowns may occur. In such cases, travelers are asked to remain patient or assist in resolving the issue together.
(2) Traffic Delays: The route mainly consists of mountain roads at high elevations. During the rainy season, landslides, rockfalls, road collapses, or other natural disruptions are common. Travelers should be prepared to wait patiently and carry food, clothing, and emergency supplies.
(3) Night Travel: In principle, we avoid driving at night. However, due to unpredictable road and weather conditions, as well as traffic restrictions in Tibet, night driving may occasionally occur. If travelers refuse to travel at night and require unscheduled accommodation, the cost of the original hotel (already booked) is non-refundable, and the new accommodation expense must be borne by the traveler. Any additional expenses resulting from an extended itinerary are also the traveler’s responsibility.
(4) Costs: If delays caused by traffic jams, road controls, or other force majeure events prevent arrival at the scheduled hotel, the pre-booked accommodation cost is non-refundable, and any temporary accommodation expenses are the traveler’s own responsibility.
Communication Notice:
(1) This itinerary travels entirely through the Tibetan Plateau. In certain high-altitude or canyon areas, mobile signal may be unavailable for extended periods. Please inform your family and friends in advance not to worry if they cannot reach you. Most accommodations have signal coverage in the evenings, allowing you to check in with loved ones.
(2) Among mobile carriers, China Telecom has the best coverage, followed by China Mobile; China Unicom has the weakest signal. The same applies to internet connectivity.
(3) Wi-Fi at accommodations may be unstable. Travelers who need to work on a laptop during the journey should make arrangements in advance, as connectivity may not be guaranteed.
Medical Notice:
(1) Before registering, please undergo a full physical examination at a certified hospital to ensure that you do not have any conditions that could affect your ability to travel at high altitude. Medical resources in Tibetan regions are limited, and treatment may be difficult in case of sudden illness during the trip.
(2) Tour leaders, drivers, hotel staff, and other personnel are not licensed medical professionals. Please do not rely on them for medical treatment. If you experience any discomfort, inform the staff immediately and seek care at the nearest medical facility.
Shopping Policy:
(1) This itinerary includes no scheduled shopping stops.
(2) During free time, if you have no intention to shop, please avoid haggling with local vendors or lingering near market stalls. If you choose to shop voluntarily, you are responsible for evaluating product quality. Once you negotiate a price and reach a verbal agreement, please complete the purchase. Backing out after bargaining can easily lead to disputes, and any consequences arising from such incidents are at your own risk.
(3) This tour does not include any “purchasing on behalf” services. Please do not ask the tour guide or driver to buy goods for you during or after the trip. If you wish to shop, please do so independently.
Force Majeure:
(1) If the tour contract cannot be fulfilled or itinerary changes occur due to force majeure (e.g., landslides, mudslides, destruction of roads or bridges, flight delays, national policies, war, pandemics, traffic controls, roadblocks, etc.), our company shall not be held liable for any related compensation.
(2) Any additional expenses incurred due to such events shall be borne by the participants;
(3) Expenses that are reduced or not incurred will be refunded based on actual circumstances.
Passport, Visa, and Tibet Entry Permit:
Foreign travelers planning to enter Tibet via Nepal must meet the following entry and visa requirements: All travelers to Tibet must hold a passport valid for at least six months and obtain a Chinese visa in advance (please refer to the official website of the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country). A Nepal visa can be obtained on arrival in Kathmandu as a visa-on-arrival. Travelers entering Tibet from Nepal must apply for a group visa, typically formed by four individuals. In addition, the Tibetan receiving travel agency must issue an official invitation letter to a designated Nepali travel agency through the Tibet Autonomous Region Tourism Development Department for legal entry into Tibet.
Change of Transportation Method to Tibet:
If you wish to change your original transportation method from flight to train, or from train to flight, please notify us at least 10 working days before departure. As the procedures and requirements for obtaining the Tibet Travel Permit differ between train and flight entries to Lhasa, our company will not be held responsible for any delay in sending the original permit caused by policy changes. Thank you for your understanding.
Hotel Changes:
Although changing hotels is extremely rare, we reserve the right to change the hotels listed in the original itinerary when necessary. Such changes may occur due to circumstances including but not limited to hotel renovations after booking, natural disasters, political unrest, or if we can provide a hotel of the same price range with better conditions. If you wish to stay at a specific hotel during your trip, we will do our best to assist in the arrangement and evaluate it based on comfort and safety. If we are unable to accommodate the request, we will prioritize booking a trusted hotel that we recommend.
Flight/Train Tickets:
This itinerary does not include any international or domestic flights or train tickets within China. Travelers are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the designated meeting point. We are not liable for any itinerary changes or additional expenses caused by force majeure events such as flight or train delays or cancellations. If you plan to travel to other destinations after your Tibet trip, please purchase the necessary tickets on your own. Upon request, we can assist in booking your onward travel, but all associated costs will be at your own expense.
Data Protection:
To process your booking, we need to share your personal details with the relevant authorities in the Tibet Autonomous Region. We will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the security and protection of this information.
Photography/Video Recording and Camera Usage:
We kindly remind you to observe the following guidelines regarding photography, filming, and the use of photographic equipment. Your local guide will also brief you on these matters at the beginning of your journey. You are welcome to take photos of everyday scenes and local Tibetans you encounter during your trip, but please ensure you obtain their permission beforehand as a sign of respect.
Photography and video recording are strictly prohibited inside temples and monasteries. Some monasteries may allow photos but will charge an additional fee. Please comply with these regulations without exception.
Please be aware that it is strictly forbidden to photograph police, military personnel, and related facilities. Even mimicking or pretending to take such photos can cause serious issues and may compromise your personal safety, as well as that of your group and local staff.
Do not take photos or videos of military bases, large radio towers, government buildings housing armed personnel, or bridges and other locations with restricted photography. If you witness politically sensitive events or civil unrest during your travels, refrain from filming or photographing them. Such actions may result in serious conflict with local authorities and unpredictable consequences.
Special caution is advised when using telephoto lenses or equipment that appears capable of long-distance surveillance. Even if no actual photography occurs, you may still be misunderstood and subjected to questioning or investigation. In such situations, please notify us immediately so we can assist you with guidance and support.
Prohibited Substances Policy: The possession or use of any illegal drugs is strictly forbidden throughout the entire trip. All participants must comply with local laws and regulations. Any violations will be subject to legal consequences borne solely by the individual involved.
Prohibition on Political Activities: During the entire trip, all forms of political activities are strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, political protests, public political discussions, assemblies, demonstrations, or the distribution of any politically related materials.
Please note that carrying, displaying, or distributing photos or content related to the Dalai Lama, Panchen Lama, or other politically sensitive figures is strictly forbidden. Such actions may result in serious consequences. Travelers must comply with local laws and regulations and cooperate with travel management.
Alcohol and High Altitude Advisory: To help you better adapt to high-altitude environments and effectively reduce the risk of altitude sickness, we recommend avoiding alcohol or limiting its intake during your journey. Moderate control of alcohol consumption helps maintain physical condition and ensures a smoother travel experience.
About Showering:
(1) For first-time visitors to high-altitude areas, it is recommended not to take a shower within the first three days. After that, assess your physical condition before deciding to shower. Catching a cold may trigger or worsen altitude sickness and impact your overall journey.
(2) Due to limited water and electricity supply in Tibetan regions, water temperature may be unstable. Please test the water temperature with your hand before showering to avoid burns from overly hot water or colds from overly cold water.
(3) Water outages may also occur mid-shower. Therefore, keep your shower short. For guests with long hair, we suggest separating hair washing from showering to avoid running out of hot water or encountering an unexpected water cut before finishing.
[Terms and Conditions for Train Ticket Booking Assistance]
1. Booking and Ticket Issuance:
If you require our agency to assist in booking Qinghai-Tibet Railway train tickets to Tibet, a booking plan must be submitted to the railway company or ticketing agent 2 to 3 months prior to departure. Train tickets are typically issued 15 days before departure. During peak travel seasons in Tibet (from June to mid-October, Chinese New Year, and other national holidays), due to extremely high demand, tickets may only be issued 1 to 9 days prior to departure. We guarantee the ability to book tickets for any time slot from Xining to Lhasa. For train routes to Tibet departing from other cities, please purchase tickets independently.
2. Flexibility for Ticket Booking:
During high travel seasons, train ticket demand to Tibet far exceeds supply. Passengers must be prepared for flexible travel arrangements as required by the railway authorities. For example, you may need to depart a day earlier or later, or take a connecting train instead of a direct one. Please be aware of the operational realities of the Chinese railway system. If you do not accept such flexibility, you must notify us before booking. Otherwise, your acceptance of this clause will be assumed.
3 Booking Soft Sleeper Tickets:
Each train only has 35 to 70 soft sleeper seats, which makes it very difficult to book during peak season. While we will do our best to meet your request, ticket availability is not guaranteed due to:
Railway stations prioritizing large group bookings;
Stations giving priority to marked important or special requests;
Government reservations being prioritized;
Train maintenance or cancellation or reduction of soft sleeper coaches.
4. Compartment Booking Policy:
Train tickets in China are sold and assigned randomly by the China Railway system. We do not guarantee that tickets booked together will be assigned within the same compartment. Even groups of 4 traveling together may not receive tickets in the same 4-person soft sleeper cabin. If soft sleeper tickets (4 beds per room) are unavailable, unless the customer has made a specific request in advance, the railway station may provide hard sleeper tickets (6 beds per room) as a substitute. If you do not agree with this substitution, you must notify us prior to booking.
5. Service Fee for Train Tickets:
Tickets to and from Tibet must be booked through authorized ticket agents. In order to secure your ticket, each booking will incur an additional service fee, which is already included in our quoted train ticket prices. Please refer to the pricing for details.
